NBA Showtime: NBA on NBC (N64) Comments

NBA Showtime: NBA on NBC for Nintendo 64 (N64) arrived in November 1999.  It was the latest in the lineage of the old NBA Jam games (NBA Hangtime came out on N64 in January 2007).  After the success of NFL Blitz, did Midway capture the magic of the original NBA Jam with NBA Showtime?

NBA Jam 99 (N64) Comments

Despite the pedigree of its name, NBA Jam 99 is a serious basketball simulation along the same lines as Acclaim’s NFL Quarterback Club, All-Star Baseball, and NHL Breakaway series.  Acclaim purchased the rights to the name under Midway’s nose and released NBA Jam 99 in December 1998 for Nintendo 64 (N64).

NBA Hangtime (N64) Comments

NBA Hangtime for Nintendo 64 (N64) was an early release for the system in January 1997.  NBA Hangtime was the true sequel to NBA Jam: Tournament Edition.  (Acclaim bought the rights to the “NBA Jam” name under Midway’s nose.)  At the time, NBA Hangtime was the best version of NBA Jam on any system.  Is it still that good?
