About Me

Before my decision to major in biology with a focus in conservation and ecology, I was involved and interested in the environment and the actions that community members and businesses could make.  Through a variety of avenues including research, teaching, classes, and working in a parks department, I've gained a broad base of knowledge that I hope to use to motivate individuals and groups of all ages make a difference like I strive to myself.

My interests in the environmental field are comprised of community and business environmental education and involvement, conservation biology, interactions between multiple ecosystems (the idea that what happens "upstream" in a process affects everything "downstream"), and other related subjects.  I am also interested in environmental finance or the economics of making conservation an affordable, standard decision and practice.  I approach anything I start with dedication and enthusiasm as I believe if you are to reach people (of any age), you have to be not only knowledgeable, but must also believe in it yourself and be able to convey that to interest and cause to others.

My personal interests are hiking, reading, photography, traveling, tinkering with web pages when I have the time, and cooking.
